Latin Name: Brassica Oleracea var. Botrytis
Pure white Snowball Cauliflower is celebrated in the kitchen in multiple cuisines: pickled, roasted, pizza crusts, riced, pureed, and mashed in place of conventional mashed potatoes.
When planning an early harvest to have tender crops, sow in peat pots to keep roots intact when ready to transfer. Planting is 8 -12 weeks before the last frost. Snowball Cauliflower is self-blanching, so no tying is necessary. It measures from 6” - 12” across. Mid spring crops can be planted to produce a harvest for summer consumption. Initial watering can contain a high phosphate fertilizer which enables the soil to properly adhere. Frequent watering every five to seven days is customary to yield good-looking heads.
