These fresh watermelon seeds are warm annuals that have a shorter growing season and produce vines that can spread 10’ long. Crimson Sweet Watermelons that are organic make an exceptional seed variety that take on bright ruby-red flesh and an oblong-shaped exterior. Crimson Sweet are known to be the heirloom plants of watermelons. Not only is this seed variety durable during the hot weather, but Organic Crimson Sweet watermelons are hardy when it comes to being more resistant to disease. Whether you’re a new or seasoned gardener, all you need is the summer heat, fertile soil, and plenty of water to grow Organic Crimson Sweet Watermelons successfully.

Sowing & Growing:

Direct-sow Organic Sweet Crimson Watermelon seeds in late spring or early summer, so long as the threat of frost has passed in your region. These warm season watermelons do best in a temperature range of 70-95℉ and prefer full sun. Plant Crimson Sweet seeds ½” deep 3-4’ apart in raised hills and with 5-6’ spaced in between rows. Germination will take 3-9 days. The hot summer conditions will sweeten watermelon plants and will need to be watered regularly until they go to fruit. This organic seed variety prefers soil that is loamy and rich in compost with a pH level of 6.0-7.0.

Harvesting:

Organic Sweet Crimson Watermelon seeds will be ready for harvest around 88 days from the sowing date. Harvest ripe watermelon by cutting the stem near the base of the fruit with gardening shears. Handle Crimson Sweet Watermelon plants with care, as their vines are tender.
